trueÑorth
is a new incarnation of Nick's original business: "@ldersonConsulting",
An electronic media design enterprise. Before this it was called, "Graphics
By Nick Alderson" a small graphic design / photographic studio servicing
local companies, ad. agencies & printers.
The
name changes aspire to be indicative of the broader range of IT based
services now supplied, world-wide.
A graduate of what is now The University of Central Lancashire, Nick gained
a degree in graphics. He's worked for many and diverse enterprises within
the industry. Experienced in such areas as: book and newspaper layout,
package design, posters, record & CD covers, large catalogues to single
page fliers. In his time he's specialised in producing artwork for beer
pumps, large-scale POS ads. for stores, screen process printing and technical
drawing for print-finishing, cutting tools & RF welding et-cetera...
"Graphics
by..." was by no means his first venture into self-employment but
this last move was brought about as a result of frustration with the lack
of business sense displayed by the other partners at the advertising agency
he left in 1992. Nick decided on training at The Business Support Unit.
Learning how to properly run a small enterprise while launching a new
one. He bought a PC in 1995 & went to night-school to learn the basics.
Consequently
the nature of the services provided by his company changed, hence the
new name: trueÑorth.
